EQUINE
WELLNESS

Soft Tissue / Muscles

Equine Massage is not just for performance horses.

To enable optimum performance, suppleness, flexibility and range of movement, muscles need to be appropriately strong, supple and working together in harmony and balance.

Equine Massage is both restorative & preventative. Muscle injuries occur in horses to various degrees. The injuries can cause anything from poor performance to lameness. Rehabilitation is based on healing, improving flexibility and muscle condition, strengthening the injured muscle, and then slowly returning to full activity.

Factors contributing to injury: carrying a rider

Carrying a rider’s weight can lead to many spinal lesions including impingement of the spinal processes and arthritis of the facet joints. Carrying an uneven rider and trying to do sports can add muscle strain to these.

Focus

Horses are the ultimate athlete, pushed to physiological extremes.

Ashley Rohwedder, founder of Amare Equus, is a Certified Equine Massage Therapist dedicated to maintaining horse health and addressing contraindication with natural, traditional methods that fortify wellbeing rather than mask problems.

Recognizing the innate ability of the body to heal itself, Ashley's methods empower horse owners to take small steps to improve the overall health and wellbeing of their horses, regardless of their circumstances.  Ashley's focus on client education allows horse owners to become part of the solution, enabling them to maintain the health of their horses and learn to prevent illness before it occurs.
