Arnica

Used for medicinal purposes since the 1500’s and still popular today. A perennial related to the sunflower that grows high in the mountains of Europe and Siberia and is cultivated in N. America. Arnica been cited as a therapy for various post-traumatic conditions, including bruises, sprains, contusions and rheumatic ailments. It soothes muscle aches, reduces inflammation and heals.


Avocado Oil

Contains a high proportion of mono-saturated fats. These fats form a protective layer over the skin to prevent sun tanning with a SPF 4-15 reported.


From the seed of the castor plant containing undecylenic acid. Due to its germicidal and disinfectant properties, it is useful for treating skin diseases and skin ulcers, particularly those which are caused due to bacterial or fungal infections. Reported to reduce hair loss as well.

Castor Oil


One of the most versatile natural oils with a reported SPF 2-8 that is an excellent skin and hair moisturizer. The antioxidant properties help in treating various skin problems. It is also highly effective in reducing protein loss in hair while conditioning and protecting the scalp.

Coconut Oil


There are several varieties of this healing herb. Excellent anti-inflammatory and benefits skin health. Soothes, heals and moisturizes.

Chamomile


Most widely known as an insect repellant there are multiple health benefits. This grass grows mainly in Asia and S. Pacific islands. It is antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, deodorant and fungicidal.

Citronella


A large genus of flowering trees that has over 700 different species. Some of the most prominent benefits include its ability to boost respiratory health, strengthen the immune system, protect skin health, ease tension and anxiety, eliminate inflammation and fight against bacterial infection.

Eucalyptus


Most commonly known for its aromatic benefits but has many other health benefits. Used for its ability to eliminate nervous tension, relieve pain and disinfect the scalp and skin. Extracted mostly from the flowers of the lavender plant. The smell of lavender oil repels mosquitoes, midges (no seeums) and moths. Additionally, if bitten the lavender has anti-inflammatory qualities that will reduce the irritation and pain associated.

Known for its analgesic, anti-microbial, anti-pyretic, anti-septic, astringent, bactericidal, fungicidal, and insecticidal, as well as many other benefits.

Lemongrass


The “miracle” oil from Australia. One of very few oils that have the ability to fight all three types of infectious organisms anti-viral + anti-fungal + anti-microbial. Tea Tree has been used to treat MRSA, acne and fungus, however, care must be taken to avoid irritation. Great for hoofs, intestinal parasites, and around wounds to keep flies at away.

It is recommended to properly dilute essential oils with a carrier oil to enhance therapy and avoid irritation.
