Amare Equus “to love the horse family” is divine.

Equus is a genus of animals including horses, donkeys and zebras, to all of which massage techniques may be applied.  The Spanish and Italian translation of amare is “love” or “to love”. The Greek translation of amare is bitter. For most equestrians, to love a horse can be bitter-sweet. I found the name quite fitting, as the process of massage is comparatively both bitter and sweet, since releasing tension may cause some pleasing discomfort. Recognizing that the body has the inherent ability to heal itself, Amare Equus employs the gentle yet potent power of essential oils to encourage this process in addition to various therapeutic massage techniques to treat the horse thoroughly and lend a hand in preventing injury. Exceptional care of the whole patient is key. Ashley’s goal is to practice the highest quality of holistic therapy with compassion and an emphasis on client education. She is committed to providing special attention to the unique concerns of each individual horse partner.

Inspired by Excellence. A healthier and more holistic approach to life has been a passion of mine. I shadowed my mentor Jean-Pierre Hourdebaigt, Massage Awareness who guided my equine massage training and certification. I worked with horses and trainers in the racing industry since 2013. My personal experience with retraining a horse from the track to hunter/jumper discipline to trail riding was an 7 year journey and remains ongoing. We can all learn something new from the horses and equestrians we meet.
