Rain Rot

Rain Rot, also known as Rain Scald is a common skin disease/infection in horses caused by Dermatophilus congolensis (bacteria). Although it's one of the more common horse skin infections, it's not as serious as it looks but it takes a little while to resolve because new hair grows in slowly. Please refrain from picking at the scabs.

The best solution for rain rot is M-T-G. The cost is about $10-18 and is a staple in every equestrian’s tack box.

Shake the bottle really well to get all the stuff on the bottom blended into the oily mixture.

The original formula has an interesting smell to it, but it really works!

A new “herbal” formula recently came on the market that has a different, more pleasant fragrance, according to some users.

M-T-G can also help remove/prevent the fungus that commonly collects on the hind cannon.
