Summer Sore
Summer Sores evolve from a superficial cut or wound that becomes infected by flies.
Typically, summer sores occur in the lower extremities where a minor superficial wound may be overlooked.
Proud Flesh develops.
Summer Sores and Proud Flesh do not resolve on their own.
Proud flesh is exuberant granulation tissue - the excessive growth of the connective tissue and blood vessels that begin to fill in a healing wound. In severe cases, the mounds of pink tissue can take on a cauliflower-like appearance and protrude beyond the surface of the skin.
Healing relies upon the migration of the delicate skin cells, so repeated application of strong chemicals and even repeated washing and rubbing of a wound stops these cells. Without the skin cells, the field is clear for granulation tissue to be produced. Nature does not then have anything to stop the wound from over-producing this highly vascular tissue and large volumes of proud flesh are often produced.
More frequent dosages of dewormers are NOT effective as a treatment for summer sores.
Summer Sores need to be treated with a specific technique for 3 weeks to achieve optimal results.
The best measure is PREVENTION. (Treatment time: Only 1-2 days on new superficial wounds)
Using the Summer Sore Solution on fresh minor cuts, wounds and surgical areas will aid in closing the exposed epidermis, allowing the migration of delicate skin cells and keeping flies out during this process.
